Despite not being the only celebrities on the team, the pair received the most online abuse from Nigerians once the lengthy roster was posted online.
The list includes notable Nollywood actresses including Joke Silva, Mercy Johnson Okojie, Fausat Balogun, Bahama Sadau, and others.

According to Punch, the first lady Aisha Buhari, senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Hajiya Nana, the wife of senator Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate, led the pack when the ruling All Progressive Congress unveiled the makeup of the women’s campaign train on Independence Day.
Many people were disappointed in Mercy Johnson and Joke Silva after hearing the news that they had joined the party and set up camp.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a presidential candidate for the ALL Progressive Congress (APC), participated in a walk yesterday in support of him.
Women from various parts of the state organized a walk in support of Tinubu, Shettima, Sanwo Olu, and Hamzat, who are running for governor and deputy governor of Lagos State, respectively.
The solidarity walk continues in Tinubu Square in Lagos State.
Online videos showing professional women, market ladies, market traders, and celebrities carrying banners while roaming the streets have gained popularity.
Joke Silva was reprimanded for interfering in Tinubu’s campaign
A member of the Tinubu Campaign team, actress Joke Silva, barged into the ceremony. Due to the vicious online harassment she received from Nigerians, she posted something on her Instagram profile.
A lot of Nigerians questioned her moral justification and asked where she left her ailing husband, Olu Jacobs. One Harmony wrote: “So Joke Silva left Olu Jacobs to come and walk under the sun for someone she’s stronger than for free? That woman smart pass dat one. Lagosians, Collect your money”.
One Peter wrote, “You lot are all greedy individuals, disguised for long as intellectuals & activist while in the real sense you were cashivist. Imagine supporting one of the biggest criminals of the 21st century for the position of president. What’s the difference between Tinubu & Abacha?”
Joke Silva disables comment section
Following the brutal call out and name calling on social media, Joke Silva disabled the comment section of her Instagram page as she posted photos and videos from the event.
The famous microblogging site, Twitter, received a response from one Dr. Ann Amuta who said, “I’m so delighted Joke Silva closed her comments and other Tinubu supporters are in the closet and afraid to publicly endorse him/APC. This indicates that we are making progress. I’m glad they understand that promoting greed, evil, and failure is shameful.

Mercy Johnson, who was pulled along with Joke Silva the day the campaign team list was made public online, was not present at the event, on the other hand.
The mother of four (4) is yet to post anything related to Tinubu or the APC campaign on any of her social media pages as at the time of writing this report. Instead, she posted only advertorials.
Why is Mercy Johnson missing in action? Is she scared of being “Cancelled” by Peter Obi and Atiku’s supporters? Is she scared or the backlash of she’s engaged with other more important and personal stuff?
