Iyabo Ojo, a popular actress and filmmaker, has revealed how she was raped as a married lady by an armed robber who attacked their home in Ikeja, Lagos, with his group.

“The other one happened after I got married to my husband and had my kids,” the actress stated on her YouTube Channel series, Bare it All with I.Y, discussing her rape experiences. We then proceeded to Ikeja. One of the armed thieves that came to our house raped me. It’s difficult to bring up the subject of rape. You have to accept that it is painful, no matter how often you talk about it. You are not, however, alone.”

The actress also disclosed that she was raped by a friend of her first lover when she was considerably younger. “I was raped by a former neighbor, who happened to be a friend of my first boyfriend,” she stated of the incident. He offered to drop me off on my way back to Ikeja, where I was then staying with my aunt, when I was almost 18 and had gone to visit my family members in the Obanikoro region of Lagos.

“Along the way, he asked if he might show me his house (because he had also left Obanikoro), and I accepted because I didn’t think he could hurt me.”

“However, when I arrived at his house, he raped me after repeated attempts to stop him failed.”

Ojo added that she chose not to inform her ex-boyfriend about the incident because she was afraid he might harm the neighbor.

“I cried my heart out,” she said. After that, I considered telling my ex-boyfriend. My ex-boyfriend was a terrible boy, and I didn’t approve of what he did. So I opted not to inform him because I was afraid that if I did, they would kill him or do something horrific to him. That was something I didn’t want because I didn’t want blood on my hands.”

The actress also said that she was first raped when she was 14 years old. When she was staying at her aunty’s place, she claims it was done by a “non-family member.” She claimed she was unable to speak out because it was deemed taboo at the time.

Ojo, on the other hand, insisted on remaining silent about the previous incident.
