Prior to Chelsea stealing the left winger from Shaktar Donestk in January, Arsenal was interested in signing Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Explosive Winger was available for the Gunners to sign, but Shaktar Donestk was adamant that it would cost at least โฌ100 million.
In order to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, Arsenal reportedly offered close to โฌ100 million. However, Chelsea’s terms on performance-related add-ons were more reasonable, and the Club accepted Chelsea’s offer. Not only did Arsenal lose Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea, but the Gunners also lost Joao Felix to the Blues.
Mykhaylo Mudryk’s departure for Chelsea appears to have benefited Arsenal in the long run. Mykhaylo Mudryk would have caused problems for the Gunners because Gabriel Martinelli is currently in fantastic form.
