Olanike, the wife of Ayodeji Soetan, a vehicle dealer, was admitted to the hospital following reports that their landlady, Juliet Akano, broke into and vandalized their Tijani Bello flat in the Ojodu neighborhood of Lagos State.
PUNK Metro discovered that the event occurred on Wednesday, January 24 at approximately 11:00 a.m.
In an interview with our journalist on Sunday, Soetan claimed that Akano and a few other people who appeared to be goons broke into the two-story building.

He claimed that one of them took out a sledgehammer and began smashing his windows and door before storming into his flat.
But he regretted that his wife, who was later sent to the hospital for high blood pressure from shock, had been impacted by the abrupt demolition.
“I had left home in the morning when my wife called to tell me that the landlady came with some people to vandalise my flat, which is on the ground floor of the building,” he said, recounting the incident. When I arrived home, they had broken the windows in my kitchen and bedroom as well as my door. Although my wife has been healing from the loss of her pregnancy for the past two months, the shock of the destruction was too much for her. She is currently in the hospital after developing high blood pressure.”
One of the men, according to Soetan, attacked his neighbor when he tried to stop them from proceeding with the demolition.
“One of the thugs she brought attacked my neighbor as I was trying to stop them,” he alleged. Our landlady was present for all of these, but she remained silent. They then proceeded to excavate a pit surrounding the structure. Other than wanting to pay her the house rent, I have no problems with her instruction. She has refused to take the rent, even though I have promised to pay it, which is due by May of this year. She did not even offer me a chance to speak.”
Soetan said the landlady gave no prior notice.
He further stated that, contrary to Akano’s assertions, the alleged goons who conducted the exercise were not state government employees.
“She had brought some people to mark the house, claiming they were Lagos State Government officials,” he stated prior to the event. She said that government employees were among those who damaged our property. However, when conducting my research, I discovered that they were not affiliated with the state government. How could representatives of the Lagos State Government arrive to destroy people’s property in that way?
Akano answered the phone when she was called, but he hung up when our correspondent identified himself. As of the time this complaint was submitted, she had not responded to a text message that was sent to her.
