Rooney, who has criticized Ronaldo’s conduct this season, was one of those in the firing line.

Ronaldo said Morgan, “I don’t know why he criticizes me so harshly… perhaps because he ended his career and I’m still playing at a good level.

“I won’t claim that I appear more attractive than he does. which is accurate”

Over the course of their five-year partnership, Ronaldo and Rooney won the Champions League and three Premier League championships.

While Ronaldo was playing in England, the two forged a strong friendship off the field in addition to their on-field success.

Despite Ronaldo’s belief that all Rooney does is criticize, he did earlier this year offer a compassionate assessment of his former teammate’s predicament.

The D.C. United manager discussed Ronaldo’s treatment with Erik ten Hag, the current Red Devils manager, in an interview with Eleven Sports.

“I know Cristiano. Rooney said, “I know it will be very difficult for him to sit on the bench. “He dislikes sitting on the sidelines. He desires to play each and every minute of the game.

He has undoubtedly had a remarkable career, one that is superior to ours. He and [Lionel] Messi, in my opinion, are two of the best players to ever play the game. Unfortunately, we all experience the effects of aging.

He is now 37 years old, not 23. It seems difficult to me. It’s going to be difficult, and accepting the situation will be difficult as well. Not participating or sitting on the bench.

“He must make an effort to rejoin the team. He will undoubtedly have to take a chance if he does it.”

Rooney is United’s all-time leading scorer, and he collected 17 major awards while playing for the team.

After seeing Rooney’s opinion about Ronaldo go viral on social media, fans have rushed to defend him.

One commenter said: “Rooney’s criticism of Ronaldo was kind and accurate. Ronaldo’s attempts at Rooney were pitiful.”

Another person remarked, “I’m having a hard time figuring out how Rooney’s statements were insulting.”

“You’re not a person if you honestly chose Ronaldo’s side in this argument,” read a third tweet.

“Still trying to figure out why this is so awful,” someone wrote.
