Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has finally regained his release after being arrested and brutalized by Nigerian military on Thursday, October 7th, 2021,
Chinwetalu Agu provoked uproar on social media after Nigerian military detained him in Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra state, for donning a Biafran flag costume.
The violent abuse imposed on him was highly denounced by many Nigerians, considering his age and rank in society.

Chinwetalu Agu claimed in a recent video that he was wearing civil clothes, not Biafran regalia, and that he was not affiliated with the Eastern Security Network.
He refuted the claims that he was soliciting people to join Biafra but was sharing bread at Upper Iweka when he was arrested.
In a video that surfaced online, Chiwetalu Agu was seen with his colleague appreciating the President of the Nigerian Guild of Actor
Emeka Rolla for his prompt response on the issue in ensuring that Chiwetagu is release.
Chinwetalu Agu’s colleague noted that the actor is hale and hearty, and nothing happened to him while in the custody of the Nigerian soldier.
Reacting, Chiwetalu Agu expressed appreciation to everyone who had called for his release while advising his fans and supporters not to give up on supporting Biafra.
