Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is just one goal away from breaking Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid goal-scoring record.
Haaland netted twice against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, bringing his tally to nine goals this season. These two goals increased his overall tally to 99 goals in 103 appearances since joining Man City in the summer of 2022.
A goal in Haaland’s next match would set a new record for the fastest century of goals for any club. The current record holder is Ronaldo, who reached 100 goals for Real Madrid in 105 games during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Haaland will have the chance to surpass Ronaldo’s record when Man City faces Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday. If he doesn’t score, the 24-year-old can still match Ronaldo’s record when City hosts Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
