After yet another Man City loss leaves the season in ruins, Graham Potter’s goal of playing for Chelsea is turning into a nightmare.
Chelsea was eliminated by Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup; three days prior and in the Carabao Cup, Pep Guardiola’s team defeated Chelsea. On Thursday night in the Premier League, Chelsea travel to Fulham in desperate need of a victory to increase their chances of finishing in the top four.
Inflicting significant harm on him and his team this season, Manchester City eliminated them from the Carabao Cup before Christmas and, with a Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, dropped Chelsea to 10th place, 10 points outside the top four.

And now Potter and his team are in disarray following the 4-0 FA Cup loss at the Etihad.
It encapsulated everything that had gone wrong for Chelsea this season, including their injury-ravaged roster, erratic organizational structure, inability to advance the ball into dangerous positions, and lack of bite in the final third.
Chelsea’s season has been ruined by more than simply their losses to a top-tier City team, though.
Chelsea has had the fewest victories and has scored the fewest goals over the last eight Premier League games. They have lost points against teams like Brentford, Brighton, and Nottingham Forest throughout that run.
Along with their first FA Cup third-round exit since 1999, it’s their worst league run since 2010.
They are unwelcome records and alarming statistics in what is quickly becoming a disastrous season. Potter must be feeling a lot of pressure right now, and he or she may be relieved that the new owners haven’t yet shown themselves to be as brutal as Roman Abramovich.
The traveling Chelsea supporters, who cheered their side on and sang praises to Thomas Tuchel, their former owner and Potter’s predecessor, are undoubtedly growing impatient with this endeavor.
