The well-known comedian and artist from Nigeria, Debo Adedayo Adebowale, better known by his stage as Mr. Macaroni, has expressed his happiness upon receiving an honorary doctorate from Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan.
Using his social media website, Mr. Macaroni—known for his outspoken role as a political politician and sugar daddy nicknamed “Daddy wa”—told his supporters the good news.
The comedian received recognition as the university’s doctor of creative writing (Honoris Causa) during today, November 11, during the school’s second convocation ceremony.
The 30-year-old star is known for his unwavering support for the #EndSars protest in 2020. Debo used his platform and presence at various protest venues to advocate against police brutality – even after becoming a victim as a result.
In his recent post, he wrote, “Dr Macaroni. 👨🏾🎓🎉.I am deeply honored to be considered worthy at the discretion of the Senate and Council of The Precious Corner Stone University Ibadan to be deemed deserving of public recognition and award of the prestigious degree of DOCTOR OF CREATIVE WRITING (HONORIS CAUSA)”
