Galatasaray is making significant progress in its bid to sign Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal from Napoli. Turkish reports reveal that the club has secured a sponsor willing to cover 70% of the transfer fee, marking a major breakthrough in negotiations.
According to Milliyet, Galatasaray is contemplating a slight adjustment to the proposed €75 million fee, reducing it to €70 million, factoring in previous payments. The club has also partnered with two prominent Turkish companies, one of which has committed to funding 30% of the transfer cost in exchange for a share in the deal.
Napoli has stipulated an upfront payment of €25 million, with the remainder to be paid in two installments. This has put pressure on Galatasaray to secure the necessary resources swiftly. The urgency has increased following interest from rival Fenerbahçe, whose coach José Mourinho has expressed a strong desire to bring Osimhen to his side.

Despite Osimhen expressing satisfaction with his current stint at Galatasaray, the club is working hard to convince Napoli to finalize the transfer. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe remains a serious contender, with agent Mirsad Türkcan initiating talks over the transfer fee. Positive responses from potential sponsors have bolstered Fenerbahçe’s position, though they have yet to meet with Osimhen directly. The club’s successful prior dealings with Napoli, such as the Eljif Elmas transfer, add to their optimism.
The deal represents a significant financial undertaking for Galatasaray. The total transfer fee, estimated at €75 million, along with an annual salary of €12 million, would amount to roughly €36 million over three years.
To accelerate negotiations, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has assembled a dedicated team, including officials Kavukcu and Buruk. This delegation is set to meet with Osimhen’s agent, George Gardi, in Italy to discuss the next steps.
Osimhen has been in exceptional form since joining Galatasaray on loan, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just nine matches across all competitions.
