Before, during, and after the holiday season, drivers are reminded by the Federal Road Safety Corps to prioritize their safety.
The counsel was given by Mr. Bassey Eshiet, the Delta State FRSC Sector Commander, to victims of a traffic accident on Saturday at the Federal Medical Centre Asaba in Asaba, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
According to Eshiet, traffic accidents and fatalities are a public health emergency requiring quick, decisive, and focused intervention.

Thus, the event’s relevance, which aims to demand efforts towards enhancing road safety and preventing preventable lives and fatalities, is apparent.
He declared, “The toll of these injuries and deaths is catastrophic for families, the country’s economy, and humanity in general.”
In order to make the roads safer for users, he urged governments, stakeholders, and the general public to adopt tried-and-true tactics like rebuilding hazardous roadways, enforcing speed limits, and enhancing vehicle designs overall.
“This advocacy is consistent with the safe system approach, which guarantees zero fatalities even in the event of a crash caused by human error.
“Over the years, the corps and its partners have maintained their commitment to this worldwide occasion by marking it with week-long events that guarantee maximum impact.
While the FRSC restates its pledge to work with its partners and stakeholders to provide a safer driving environment.
