The attack on a supermarket in One Man Village, near Mararaba, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state, has prompted the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigative Department in Lafia to launch an investigation, per the directive of Umar Nadada, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State.

Four people were reportedly slain by an armed group that assaulted the shop.

The event was said to have occurred on Tuesday at approximately 8:45 p.m.

One of the dead people had an identity card from the Central Bank of Nigeria, according to a voice heard in the video that our journalist was able to collect right after the occurrence.

Ramhan Nansel, a spokesman for the Nasarawa police, verified the occurrence when reached.

He mentioned that four people had died in the incident and added that the Deputy Commissioner in charge of SCID has been instructed by the CP to look into the situation.

“I would like to confirm that on January 2, 2024,” Nasel stated. Four thugs broke into the Wisdom supermarket in Adehi, Karu local government, and started firing randomly. Four people were found after the armed guys opened fire on the patrons; upon arrival at the hospital, the medical staff pronounced them dead.

The Maraba Medical Center is now home to their remains. The State Criminal Investigative Department’s deputy commissioner of police in Lafia has been instructed by the commissioner of police to respond to the scene and conduct a thorough inquiry into the case. The investigation’s conclusion will be disclosed.
