Idu stated that an examination conducted by the state police command revealed that a number of the abductors were among the offenders being pursued by the Rivers State police when they stormed their hiding places in the Isokun region of the state last week.

He asserted that the woman’s abductors fired multiple bullets before snatching her up and taking off in their car.

“We have taken into custody the initial group of individuals involved in the abduction. The mastermind’s girlfriend was taken into custody, according to the CP.

Additionally, he connected several suspects thought to be engaged in the businesswoman’s kidnapping to the unruly behavior of the youth uprising in Biogbolo-Epie, within the same Yenagoa Local Government Area.

According to Idu, some of the young people’s illicit behavior caught the notice of the police. However, when the cops approached some of the youngsters, they turned violent, which sparked a mob attack on them and resulted in a conflict.

“Two individuals exhibiting peculiar behaviors were observed at Biogbolo. When law enforcement tried to detain them for interrogation, the suspects raised their voices, which incited a mob attempt to disarm the officers,” the speaker stated.

Additionally, he asserted that a group of angry spectators attacked and tried to disarm a Community Safety Corps squad owned by the state.

According to the CP, one of the mobsters was hurt when a gunshot was inadvertently discharged during the ensuing altercation.

Before everything returned to normal, the event created uncertainty that led to a traffic bottleneck at the Isaac Boro Expressway’s Green Villa intersection in Biogbolo-Epie for a few hours.
