According to The Sun, Andre Silva, Emil Forsberg, Christopher Nkunku, and Dani Olmo all scored goals in the German Cup first-round match.

But Werner, who has now scored four goals in as many games since returning to Leipzig, was the one to leave the field with the trophy.

Werner returned to the Bundesliga giants from Chelsea over the summer for ยฃ25 million. He also recorded an assist on Tuesday night.

Only two years earlier, the Blues had originally paid ยฃ47.5 million to sign him from Leipzig.

Even though Werner won the Champions League in his debut season, he had trouble lighting up Stamford Bridge.

The German international scored just 10 goals in the league and 23 goals overall, but the Blues might have benefited from his finishing in their shocking 2-1 loss at Southampton.

Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea the lead, but the Saints made a push to win the game with goals from Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong just before halftime.
