“I am grateful for everything in my life.” I’m grateful that I don’t appear to have gone through what I have. Soon, I’ll be immortalizing my daughter. In my daughter’s name, I’m planning to open a treatment center for young girls who use illegal drugs. At the same time, I’m going to help folks with sickle cell disease. I couldn’t put myself back together all the times I was heartbroken. I’m just getting back on my feet, not completely, but I’m trying to make things work. It is not simple.

“Many people in the 1980s were unaware of the consequences of sickle cell disease since they had never had it.” It is not an easy experience, I tell those who are prepared to listen. They must keep their cool in order to prevent bringing a lovely child into the world and then grieving over them. On Mother’s Day, Iyabo Ojo published a video that made me weep so hard because I understood what it was like to give birth to my first child and, at the end of the day, she isn’t here to celebrate with me. She told Saturday Beats, “I thank God that her sister is alive and that she is not a sickle cell patient, and that God has been true to her.”

When asked about people’s reactions to her daughter’s death and whether she was blamed for her late daughter’s health, she stated that she was not criticized and that it was evident that she provided her child all the time, care, and resources she needed.

“People didn’t really blame me because I gave her all the time and money she needed but God knows best. She was a very gorgeous lady; no one will ever wish to lose that kind of child, but man proposes and God disposes. As many times as I can, I tell people to forget about what love is; it has nothing to do with genotype. I tell people they have to be very sure and careful. This question is a very big pain in my heart but I take solace in God. I accept anything the Lord has done for me. I never for once questioned God about it because He knows more than I do,” she said.
