During Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw at Borussia Dortmund, Canadian sensation Alphonso Davies took a boot to the face and suffered a skull bruise.
The star of Canada’s national team at age 21 was “feeling okay in the circumstances,” according to Bayern Munich, but skipped training on Sunday.
The club claimed that medical scans showed the bruising. After the game, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann mentioned a possible concussion.

During a Saturday 45th-minute challenge for the ball with Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, Davies suffered an injury. The English midfielder kicked the ball with his right foot into the air while shielding it from Davies with his body in an effort to veer away from the defender.
Bellingham’s boot made contact with Davies’ face rather than the ball because Davies got his head to the ball first. Then Davies collapsed to the ground while grabbing his face.
On the verge of halftime, he got care and appeared unstable as he was assisted off the field. He did not observe any more activity.
