To improve operations, the Federal Government has authorized a new organizational structure for the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
The agency informed Dare Adekanmbi, the Executive Chairman of FIRS, of this on Monday through a statement that was signed by the Special Adviser for Media.
It announced that a significant reorganization would be taking place.

He announced that the new structure will be unveiled by Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, during a two-day strategic management meeting of the FIRS in Abuja.
Adekanmbi claims that the meeting’s goal is to make sure that every director is fully aware of and supportive of the agency’s strategic direction.
“To discuss the renewed and refocused strategy of the FIRS, the retreat will also engage with external stakeholders in government, professional bodies, and the organized private sector,” he said.
“Reimagining Tax Administration for Equity and Economic Growth” is the retreat’s theme.
“Since taking office, Zacch Adedeji, the Chairman of the FIRS, has been leading a radical transformation in the agency’s values,” Adekanmbi continued. His goal is for the FIRS to become a more suitable revenue-collection agency and more taxpayer-centric.
In the meantime, FIRS has disclosed plans to dramatically raise tax revenue collection to N19.4 trillion, a 57% increase.
In order to finance the nation’s infrastructure requirements, President Bola Tinubu had instituted reforms aimed at boosting the amount of money coming into the government coffers.
