Fans believe that Karim Benzema’s attire, which he wore to accept his first Ballon d’Or prize on Monday night, was inspired by Tupac Shakur, a legendary rapper.
The Real Madrid striker was chosen for the prized individual award ahead of Kylian Mbappe, a teammate from France, who was jeered before the presentation, and Cristiano Ronaldo, an ex-Los Blancos teammate who came in 20th, the lowest ranking of his career.

A third supporter, though, defended Benzema and said that the Real captain was honoring the rapper as he always does on social media. Tupac has already been used by Benzema to make a point; when Mbappe broke his commitment to sign with Real Madrid in the summer, the Paris Saint-Germain player was the target of his subtle jab.
