Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State, has received support from his relatives to run for governor in 2024.
At a welcome held for Shaibu upon his arrival at the PDP Ward 11, Etsako West Local Government Area, the endorsement was given. The chairman, Igbafe Agbonoga, confirmed the deputy governor’s popularity among the people, party members, and his people.
“We have decided that Philip Shaibu has to run for the 2024 governorship election,” Agbonoga stated. If chosen to be our state’s next governor, we are confident he will have a significant impact.

Our choice is based on how well he performed while serving in the National Assembly and the Edo State House of Assembly, respectively.
Following a thorough evaluation of the deputy governor’s qualifications and background, the Ward 11 PDP leadership and members have made the decision to support and encourage him to run for governor of Edo in 2024.
“This decision was made after thorough consultation with party members throughout PDP, Estako West’s Ward 11.”
Members, he said, feel that the deputy governor is the most reputable and capable candidate for the position.
“We need not just any politician, but a man with the best interest of the state at heart, in addition to the necessary experience, as we prepare to elect a new governor in a matter of months,” he continued.
