In 2014, Oshoala’s ascent to stardom began. Despite being an U20 player, she clinched two awards that year – the Youth Player of the Year and Women African Footballer of the Year.

In 2016, Oshoala secured the Women’s Player of the Year Award, capping a stellar year where she earned the top scorer accolade at the Women’s AFCON in Cameroon. Playing for Arsenal Ladies FC, she contributed six goals to Nigeria’s eighth African title in the competition’s last ten editions.
