During an attack on Thursday, just 200 meters from a military post in Pambara, in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja, bandits kidnapped Aondo Ver, a director of the Federal Housing Authority in the Federal Capital Territory, from his residence.
The criminals abducted the person at roughly 12.30 am on Thursday and fled via the bushes after firing randomly and inciting fear in the neighborhood.
According to residents who verified the information with our correspondent on Thursday, military personnel were stationed at a military facility known as “camp,” which is located roughly 200 meters from the director’s abduction scene in Pambara Extension.

They also mentioned that citizens and active and retired military people lived in the region where bandits had assaulted.
“Overnight, at around 12:30 am today (Thursday), bandits attacked Pambara Extension and abducted one of our neighbors, Mr. Aondo Ver, a Director in the Federal Housing Authority, FCT,” a source claimed.
The attack happened very close to a ‘camp,’ the military base at the entrance of Bwari very close to Pambara Extension. The part of Pambara Extension where Mr Ver was kidnapped is just about 200 metres away from the military base. But the kidnappers escaped through the bushes with the victim.”
Another resident added, “The attack is still shocking to us. Our estate is very close to the military base here known as ‘camp’ at the entrance of Bwari, and there are also serving and retired military personnel living with us here, yet these bandits were bold enough to attack this place and kidnap Mr Ver.”
The FCT is seeing an alarming increase in instability, which is causing authorities and inhabitants to become increasingly concerned.
Our correspondent was unable to get in contact with Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Nigerian Army spokesperson, since his phone and text messages went unanswered.
Additionally, as of the time of publication, Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, could not be reached for comment.
