Gonzalo Higuain, a former striker for Juventus and Real Madrid, has declared his retirement after the conclusion of the current MLS campaign. Currently playing for Inter Miami, the former AC Milan attacker will retire this year.
Higuain, who finished second in the 2014 Men’s World Cup with Argentina and won six league titles with Real Madrid and Juventus, made the announcement at a press conference on Monday.
With two games remaining in the regular season, the 34-year-old has 14 goals in 26 appearances for Inter Miami, who are competing for an MLS playoff position.

Higuain played for Napoli and amassed more than 100 goals for Real Madrid. He also holds the record for the most goals scored in a single season in the Italian Serie A. The Argentine striker spent time on loan with Chelsea of the English Premier League, but he was unable to reach an agreement with the Blues and returned to Italy when his loan period was up.
