Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the deceased singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, informed a coroner’s court on Wednesday that his late son had been residing with singer Azeez Fashola, commonly known as Naira Marley, since December 2019.
Joseph provided his testimony during a coroner’s inquest, which was conducted to investigate the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
The musician passed away on September 12 and was laid to rest the following day. He was 27 years old at the time of his death.

His death has stirred controversy, leading the Lagos State Government to order a coroner’s inquest to investigate the circumstances surrounding it.
The inquest commenced on October 13 and is being conducted at the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State.
Joseph informed the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that he and his son had lived together for 18 years.
He mentioned that he was not aware of the specific residence where his late son lived with Marley.
Joseph testified that his son left his home when he reached the age of consent and started to support Marley while pursuing his own music career.
Joseph stated that he had seen the deceased three days before his son’s death.
He also mentioned that he had only seen the casket of the deceased in a photograph.
Joseph provided testimony that the deceased’s landed property was in the care of his mother-in-law. He added that his son had frequently informed him about his possessions being held by his wife and her family.
He alleged that Mohbad’s wife had put sleeping pills in his son’s food during the time they lived with Marley.
