In this interview with City People, Ogogo opens up about his ULCER and how he didn’t realize it was Ulcer until it had perforated his intestines, and how it caused him to lose so much weight that many of his coworkers, acquaintances, and family members shunned him during his 8-year illness.
What led to your sickness in 2004?I
I was unwell from 2004 to 2012 before starting to feel better in 2013. I’ve only heard of ulcers, but I’ve never had one. I got dressed for my job at Ipaja when I woke up that day. It was Arakangudu’s responsibility. It was the fourth day of Ramadan, and it was the fourth day of fasting. I usually don’t eat Suhur (the early morning meal eaten by Muslims during Ramadan), but if you give me a cup of tea, I’ll be fine.
Even when I want to break the fast, I usually don’t eat a lot. Everyone in my family is required to fast; if you don’t, you will face consequences. So, we set out for the place, but on the way there, I noticed that I wasn’t feeling very comfortable. I began to experience weird sensations in my abdomen, as well as acute aches.
