Taking to social media after the match, Carragher expressed his disappointment, suggesting that Liverpool should now prioritize their league campaign. He wrote, “Awful result & performance from Liverpool, the only consolation about getting beat so heavily is Jurgen should play a full second string in the second leg & go all in for the league!”
Currently, Liverpool is tied on points with league leaders Arsenal with seven games left in the Premier League season. However, their chances in the Europa League appear bleak, considering the daunting task of overturning a three-goal deficit in Italy.
