Similar to the changes made to the Champions League, UEFA has overhauled this season’s Europa League format by eliminating the traditional group stage. Instead, teams will compete against eight different opponents—four at home and four away—in a league-style format before the knockout rounds commence in early 2025.
Aside from their clash against Mourinho’s new team, Fenerbahce, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will both face Rangers in this stage of the competition.
This season’s Europa League final is set to be held at San Mames, the home ground of Athletic Bilbao in Spain, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
