Before he can successfully lead the Chelsea attack, he needs time to recover from his goal-scoring form. He is also nursing an injury that has forced him to wear a face mask, which can be uncomfortable.
In his first game in charge, Potter started Aubameyang up front while Kai Havertz lined up on the right wing. Both players were largely ineffective as Chelsea drew 1-1 with Salzburg, with Raheem Sterling scoring the home team’s goal.
