Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has attributed their 2-1 defeat to West Ham to a controversial penalty decision.
Late in the second half at the London Stadium, Jarrod Bowen converted a penalty to secure the win. Crysencio Summerville initially gave West Ham the lead with his debut goal, but Casemiro soon equalized with a header.
The penalty incident came after Matthijs De Ligt’s clash with Danny Ings, which referee David Coote initially waved off. However, VAR official Michael Oliver advised Coote to review the incident on the pitchside monitor, leading to the penalty decision.

Speaking to the BBC, Ten Hag expressed frustration, saying, “This is the third time this season we feel an injustice. We created so many chances and should have been two or three up. In the second half, we were pushing hard, but let them back into the game. It’s unfair and unjust how we conceded that penalty.”
