Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admitted his team fell short in their 3-2 Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The loss marked back-to-back defeats for United for the first time under Amorim, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side capitalized on goals from Nikola Milenkovic, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Chris Wood. Rasmus Højlund and Bruno Fernandes found the net for United, but it wasn’t enough to avoid the setback.
The result propelled Forest to fifth in the table, while United slipped to 13th, sitting just 10 points above the relegation zone.

Reflecting on the performance in an interview with BBC Sport, Amorim said:
“It was a tough game. We started really badly, conceding a goal on the first play, which made it hard to recover. We then controlled the game and created several opportunities.
“In the second half, we adjusted our movements in the final third and managed to equalize. At halftime, we were prepared to push for the win, but once again, we started poorly and conceded two goals.
“We tried different approaches, but there wasn’t enough quality in our execution. We lacked clear chances to score. It’s a tough moment for us, but we have to keep working and move forward.”
