Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has pointed to Manchester United as a team unlikely to compete for the Premier League title this season.
Murphy believes the Red Devils will find it challenging to secure a top-four finish, especially after their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace over the weekend. Currently, Manchester United sits in 11th place in the standings after five matches, having won just two games.
“They brought in Zirkzee, who is their only attacking addition. He’s a young player and not really a goal scorer or a true centre-forward,” Murphy commented on Match of the Day. “That’s not going to help Manchester United reach their goals of competing for the title. I think they’ll struggle for a top-four spot even if they create chances and show some creativity.”
