Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has stated that he doesn’t believe his old team will compete for the Premier League title this season.
Liverpool has entered a new era under Arne Slot, who took over from Jurgen Klopp this summer. Murphy voiced his concerns about the club’s lack of new signings, noting that Liverpool is the only Premier League team yet to make any additions this summer.
On talkSPORT, Murphy said, “The transfer window isn’t closed yet, and Liverpool’s transfer business over the last five or six years has been excellent. I expect them to finish in the top four, but I don’t think they’ll surpass Manchester City.

“They can’t win the title with this squad, in my opinion. They’ll improve, of course, but they need significant new signings—a centre-back and a holding midfielder, for example.”
