This follows the circulation of a controversial video showing Fernández singing with his Argentine teammates about the French national team. The lyrics, which include references to “passports, families, all born in Africa,” have been criticized as racist by some.

The French Football Federation (FFF), through its president Philippe Diallo, has condemned the video and announced plans to file a legal complaint with FIFA.
