According to reports in London, they have already agreed to sign Christopher Nkunku, a forward for RB Leipzig, next summer. If Boehly still wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, he may only have one month left to do so.
Since admitting he intended to leave the team over the summer in order to compete for titles and participate in the Champions League, the Portuguese forward has been the subject of transfer rumors. Chelsea was one of the teams to gently inquire about Ronaldo. However, the conversation would need to be resolved because, according to the Telegraph, Manchester United is now prepared to sell their forward. If the opinions are in agreement, a transfer in January wouldn’t be out of the question, but it would be dangerous to decide on Ronaldo without a director of football in place.
Ronaldo, 37, has been an isolated figure at Old Trafford this season, mostly utilised in Europa League play despite having previously stated that he was not for sale and would not be leaving. He was not used as a substitute in the 6-3 loss in the Sunday Manchester derby, according to the new manager Erik ten Hag, “out of respect for his career.”
United’s position has softened, but it is debatable whether this changes anything. Ronaldo is no longer a top pick, and coaches are less likely to be drawn to him because of his lack of effort off the ball in high-pressing systems.
