Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has conceded that Jonny Evans has exceeded his expectations since rejoining the Premier League club.
Ferdinand remarked that Evans has arguably been the team’s standout defender this season.
Evans, 36, penned a short-term deal with United last summer, marking his return eight years after his initial stint.

The center-back has featured in 17 matches across all competitions for the Red Devils, starting 12 times in the Premier League.
“He’s arguably been our strongest defender this season, which speaks volumes. Initially, when he signed, despite being my friend and former teammate, I had doubts: ‘Are we really signing Jonny at this stage? Are we regressing?’ However, he’s stepped up whenever called upon and performed admirably.
“I recently caught up with him at the training ground, and he’s surprised himself with the amount of game time he’s received. But ultimately, you have to deliver when given the chance,” Ferdinand shared with Cool FM News.
