Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that he chose Christopher Nkunku as his designated penalty taker.
In a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night, the Blues defeated Club America 3-0, with Nkunku opening the scoring from the spot. Marc Guiu then doubled Chelsea’s advantage before Nkunku won another penalty in the second half.

“I have decided, which is why Christopher took the first penalty. Noni was close to taking it, but I told Tosin to inform Noni that Christopher had to take it.
“I am the one who decides who shoots the penalties, not the players,” Maresca said.
