Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has stated that Mykhailo Mudryk needs to “disconnect” from football as he awaits the outcome of a Football Association (FA) investigation into a failed drug test.
Mudryk has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for a banned substance in October. The 23-year-old winger expressed his shock at the news, insisting that he “has never knowingly used any banned substances.”
The Ukraine international faces a lengthy ban if found guilty by the FA.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Mudryk was seen ringside at the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury heavyweight boxing title fight on Saturday.
When asked if Mudryk had been given time away from the club, Maresca replied:
“In this moment, it’s good for him to disconnect a little bit from the situation. The last time I spoke with him, we tried to support him, but right now, we are just waiting.”
