Manchester United Face Mice Infestation, Hygiene Issues, and On-Field Struggles
As if poor performances and a leaking roof weren’t enough, Manchester United are now grappling with a mice infestation at Old Trafford, according to a report by The Daily Mail. The problem has reportedly lowered the club’s food hygiene rating to two stars out of five.
United are currently evaluating options to either redevelop Old Trafford or construct a new stadium entirely.

A club spokesperson emphasized their commitment to maintaining cleanliness, stating:
“Manchester United implements a robust pest-control system throughout Old Trafford. Multiple weekly checks are conducted in all catering areas, and stringent measures are taken to maintain hygiene wherever food is stored, prepared, or served. If incidents of this nature occur, immediate and appropriate action is taken.”
Trafford Council also confirmed the situation, with a spokesperson explaining:
“Our environmental health officers assigned a food hygiene rating of two following a routine visit. We are now working closely with Manchester United to ensure compliance and necessary improvements.”
Meanwhile, on the field, United’s struggles continued. Following the dismissal of manager Erik ten Hag earlier this season, the team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday, leaving them in 13th place in the Premier League table.
Adding to the club’s woes, new manager Ruben Amorim’s post-match press conference was interrupted by water dripping from the ceiling in the media room, highlighting infrastructure issues at the historic stadium.
