“I’m so sorry for him,” Guardiola said to the press. “I have an incredible relationship with him, and I think he represented Man United at the highest level in terms of behaviour.”

Guardiola added, “I wish him all the best for the future. He’ll come back stronger. In our job, results are everything. When results aren’t good enough, we’re always at risk of staying or being sacked.”
