Anthony Gordon, a standout for Everton, has finally spoken out about his attempted £60 million transfer to Chelsea.
Gordon said that the estimates were “ridiculous” and that neither he nor any other football player are worth £60 million.
Some commentators said Chelsea was foolish to demand such a high price for the 21-year-old England star, who became a late target for the Blues at the tail end of August.
According to reports from Europe, the Blues were willing to spend up to £60 million on the 21-year-old, making him one of the most expensive British players in history.

Gordon claimed that the reported amounts had likewise taken him by surprise.
Gordon responded when asked about Chelsea’s strategy, “That’s football nowadays – it’s completely ridiculous.
“In my opinion, no player is worth that much money, but I’m not going to put myself down either.
“Football is all about the money these days, that’s just how it is. Because I can only control what I can control, I wasn’t too focused on it.
“That is a fundamental aspect of football. That speculation will always exist when you’re successful.
Gordon insisted that despite how well-treated he has been at Goodison Park, he does not feel compelled to leave Everton. He also added that he must remain.
