Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has acknowledged his team’s current defensive frailty following a crushing 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Premier League champions suffered their fifth consecutive loss, adding pressure ahead of their upcoming clash with league leaders Liverpool.
Tottenham’s James Maddison struck twice in the first half, while Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson added further goals to complete the rout.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Guardiola said:
“At the moment, we are fragile defensively. We started well as usual, but we couldn’t score. Then, we conceded, and after that, more goals followed, which is tough for us emotionally right now.
“In eight years, we’ve never faced a situation like this. Now, we must confront it and overcome it by winning, starting with the next game. While things seem bleak now, perhaps in a few weeks, we will see them differently.”
