Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has instructed his players to spend Christmas night at the Etihad Campus training facilities in an effort to address their recent poor form.

The Premier League champions are set to host Everton on Boxing Day at 12:30 pm, hoping to bounce back after securing just one win in their last 12 matches across all competitions.

As part of their usual pre-match routine, City players stay together the night before home games. Guardiola has opted to maintain this tradition despite the festive season.

Players spent Christmas morning with their families before reconvening at the training ground for an evening session followed by an overnight stay.

โ€œWe train today (Tuesday), we train tomorrow (Wednesday) night, we will stay over here, and we are going to play on Boxing Day,โ€ Guardiola explained.

When asked if his players might object to spending Christmas night at the training ground, he responded firmly, โ€œHopefully, they want to be here because itโ€™s our job.โ€
