Potter departed Brighton even though the Seagulls were willing to let him leave when Thomas Tuchel was fired and Chelsea called the England boss.

De Zerbi was introduced after finalizing his contract with Brighton on Sunday. His new team was scheduled to play a close friendlies at Amex Stadium on Saturday.

De Zerbi won’t be formally unveiled to the media until Tuesday afternoon out of respect on the day of the Queen’s burial.

De Zerbi left Shakhtar Donetsk in July after a 14-month stay as a result of Russia’s invasion.

The Italian manager has worked as a coach for Sassuolo, Benevento, and Palermo throughout his career.

Because Brighton plays Liverpool soon after the international break and then faces Tottenham, Man City, and Chelsea over their following six games, De Zerbi’s first few matches as manager won’t be easy.
