The Football Association (FA) has launched an investigation into the behavior of Tottenham Hotspur fans during their 4-3 Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.
During the match, some Spurs supporters were seen throwing objects onto the pitch, prompting the FA’s review.
Tottenham had taken an early 2-0 lead within 11 minutes through goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski. However, Chelsea staged a remarkable comeback, with Jadon Sancho scoring, Cole Palmer converting two penalties, and Enzo Fernandez adding another goal. Before kickoff, Tottenham fans in the South Stand were given pieces of paper to create a tifo displaying the clubโs motto, “Audere est Facere” (Latin for “To dare is to do”). However, some of these papers were thrown onto the pitch, particularly when Chelsea players were taking corners in that area.
The FA is reviewing video footage and referee Anthony Taylorโs match report to determine whether further action will be necessary.
