Due to the club’s poor recent performance under the former Chelsea manager, Everton has officially announced that Frank Lampard has been fired as their manager. In their most recent game against West Ham United, the Toffees were defeated 2-0 by the former England international.
After battling relegation for the majority of the season, Lampard led the Merseyside Blues to safety last year.
The Premier League team has hired Paul Tait and Leighton Baines as interim managers while they search for a permanent replacement for Lampard. They will oversee training until a new coach is hired.
The Toffees stated on their website that “everyone at Everton would like to thank Frank and his coaching staff for their contribution over what has been a hard 12 months.”
