The FA has charged Cristiano Ronaldo with improper conduct after he swatted a teenage fan’s phone out of his hand following Manchester United’s loss at Everton in April.
United said in a statement: “We note the FA announcement on Cristiano Ronaldo.” We’ll be there for the player as he fights back against the accusation.
Ronaldo was cautioned last month following an investigation by Merseyside Police into claims of assault and criminal damage, which led to the FA case.

After United lost 1-0, Jake Harding, 14, sought to capture Ronaldo as he hobbled off the field at Goodison Park on his phone.
According to the boy’s mother Sarah Kelly, the Portugal star violently smacked the phone out of the boy’s hand, leaving him with an injured hand.
Ronaldo expressed regret on social media and asked the little fan to see a game with him at Old Trafford. It’s never simple to deal with emotions in trying times like the one we are going through, he wrote.
