Wesley Fofana, a summer acquisition by Chelsea, has come under fire from ex-Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves following the Blues’ 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in their first UCL match on Tuesday night.

In the just ended transfer window, Fofana, who Chelsea acquired from Leicester City in a move estimated to be worth £75 million, was shoved aside by Orsic, who headed the ball past the 21-year-old and raced toward goal before putting it over Kepa Arrizabalaga.

“They bought Fofana for for this reason, to cramp the pitch, play high, he can [follow] runs in behind and he’s speedy,” Owen Hargreaves remarked on BT Sport.
“However, he didn’t seem particularly explosive in that match, and I believe Tuchel will be concerned that they are giving up easy goals when they are outplaying their opponents.
“I would have responded, “No chance,” if you had told me he wouldn’t win that race.
“They recently spent £70 million on him because he’s quick and aggressive. Surprised he doesn’t respond, I say. Young children prefer to rely on their athletic ability.
