The Egyptian has been sidelined for a considerable amount of time and isn’t anticipated to return for at least a little while. Despite this, he has been productive, as evidenced by the social media posts this week that showed him in action as a coach.
The 30-year-injury old’s has been a major setback for both him and Arsenal, who will now have less depth in the middle of the field. The injury has forced Elneny to divert his attention, as he is unable to train with the first team. The midfielder has been pursuing his UEFA coaching qualifications, and he recently completed his B licence, as he announced on Instagram.
His next goal is to obtain his UEFA A licence; Granit Xhaka and Cedric Soares are also working toward obtaining their badges.

At London Colney, it seems at least as though Arteta is shaping the upcoming generation of coaches. Given that Jack Wilshere already serves as the U18s team’s coach and that the club like hiring former players—Per Mertesacker oversees the academy and Edu serves as its technical director—you’d have to assume that Elneny would at the very least be given consideration for a position in the future.
When his playing days are through, Elneny’s father has also given his support for his son to become a coach at the team, saying: “The Arsenal players love Elneny, he is loved among his teammates in the dressing room, and the club’s administration loves him. So I hope he will coach Arsenal in the future.”
