Following the announcement of additional train strikes, Liverpool supporters’ travel plans for two of the club’s forthcoming Premier League away games are expected to be severely disrupted.
In the upcoming weeks, the Reds will visit Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest. On October 22 and November 6, Liverpool will play at the City Ground and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, respectively.
Saturday lunchtime kickoff is at 12.30 p.m. with Jurgen Klopp’s team facing Forest. While the Sunday afternoon trip to Spurs kicks off at 4.30 p.m.

However, the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) has indicated that employees who work as train supervisors for Avanti West Coast will strike on both of these days over rosters. This implies that there will likely be major inconvenience for Liverpool supporters who want to travel to Nottingham or London for the two games.
“Avanti are one of the worst operators we have ever tried to bargain with,” stated RMT general secretary Mick Lynch. They have treated our people abhorrently, and this strike action is the result of months of disregard and a resounding reaction to the managers’ haughtiness.
Because of the havoc they have created for travelers and because they treat their personnel with such disdain, Avanti shouldn’t have been granted a franchise contract extension.
“We’re disappointed by the RMT’s decision to go on strike in the coming weeks, which we think is premature,” an Avanti West Coast representative said in response. This is utterly unfair to our consumers, who will once again be forced to deal with needless interruptions to their plans.
We kindly request that the RMT reconsider this line of action and cooperate with us in settling this disagreement.
A new schedule for the days affected by the strike action has not yet been posted on the Avanti West Coast website as of the time of writing. According to a statement on the website, the train operator is currently rewriting a schedule for October 22 and November 6.
In a statement posted to the website, the company said that it was “currently working hard to restructure our timetable in a resilient and sustainable way that will allow us to progressively boost services without being dependent on traincrew overtime, which has declined substantially in recent weeks.”
As a result, we will confirm our upcoming timetables with less warning than normal and on a rolling basis. Even if the schedule is posted on our website and mobile app, some services may nevertheless change or cease to exist.
“We are aware that we are not providing the level of service that you are entitled to, and we sincerely regret the great irritation and inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your continuing understanding and patience.
