Vincent Enyeama, the former Nigerian international, has expressed his eagerness to join the coaching staff of the Super Eagles if given the opportunity. Despite his surprising retirement in 2015 after amassing over 100 appearances, the 41-year-old, renowned for his stellar performances with the national team, conveyed in an interview with Lagos Talk that he is prepared to contribute his wealth of experience from his European career to assist the team.
Regarding the prospect of becoming a goalkeeper coach, Enyeama mentioned, “First of all, I’m not yet certified. If they want me to follow a path similar to Zidane, who wasn’t certified but gained trust from Real Madrid, I’m open to it. I don’t have an issue if they wake up tomorrow and say, ‘Vincent, come and be part of the setup’ – I would gladly do it. I can never refuse my country; I have always maintained that. I can never say no to Nigeria. I will bring my accumulated experience from years in Europe, and together, we can achieve it. But the first step is for them to extend the invitation.”
