Obi Cubana’s foreign passport has apparently been taken by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which has debunked rumors about his release from detention.
This comes after reports that the Anambra-born billionaire had regained his freedom and thanked everyone for their support in a post on his Instagram page.
Obinna Iyiegbu, alias Obi Cubana, was probed by EFCC officers on Monday, November 1, 2021, for money laundering and tax fraud.

However, a recent report has shown that the 46-year-old into the hospitality and entertainment business is yet to regain his freedom but has been granted administrative bail based on the condition of holding an individual after 24 hours.
The conditions for the administrative bail are yet to be met at the time of the report and his international passport has been seized to restrict his movements out of the country.
The billionaire socialite became more prominent after the burial celebration of his late mother. Since then many people had questioned his source of wealth, while some had regarded him as a hard worker and businessman.
